Logan Sergeant is being forced to sit out of the Australian Grand Prix after it was revealed Alex Albon will race in that car after ruining his own.
A crash during Friday’s first practice session completely destroyed his chassis, forcing the car to not be able to run. Considering Albon is the quicker driver, the team decided that Albon would race instead of Sergeant, taking the seat in the sister car.
The American driver revealed his disappointment but understood the teams decision and offered his full support. Albon was rather more apologetic. It is, however, undeniably in the best interest of the constructor.
