Daniel Ricciardo will not be taking part in the rest of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, with AlphaTauri replacing the Australian with Liam Lawson after his crash with the wall on Friday. Lawson will make his F1 debut on Sunday in the Australia’s absence.
The Alpha Tauri man hit the barriers after entering the Hugenholtz banked corner and he had to take Sterling action to avoid a stricken Oscar Piastri who had just crashed his McLaren at the same corner.
Ricciardo appeared to have failed to see the late yellow flag being waved prior to the corner, entering the corner sequence at full speed. It was immediately apparent that Daniel was in pain with his left hand, and was brought to a local hospital for checks, where they confirmed a fracture had occurred.
We at Wheel2Wheel hope our friend of the channel recovers soon.
