5 things you didn’t know about Max Verstappen...

Max Verstappen is running away with the F1 championship in 2023 and looks set to become only the fifth driver in history to win three in a row. But there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Mighty Max, including some of these little known gems. Just wait for the final one!
Firstly, his mum is a Kart racer! Most people know that Verstappen’s father is a former F1 podium finisher, but Sophie Kumpen, the mother of the Dutch racer, is also a former kart racer.
Verstappen is the youngest ever driver to compete in Formula One at the age of 17 years, 166 days. This was for Toro Rossi, now know as Alpha Tauri.
As well as on the track, Max Verstappen is also a successful sim racing driver, winning the first-ever virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020.
Also away from the track, Max does his bit for charity. His work includes supporting a children’s hospital in his home country of the Netherlands.
Max Verstappen actually bribed his driving instructor when he was younger. Yes arguably the greatest driver on the planet right now actually revealed that he sued to bribe his teacher with t-shirt and other signed merchandise, although this wasn’t accepted!
