Red Bull Racing have announced the departure of Helmut Marko who departs the side after two decades of work with the team.
Marko, who joined the side in 2005, was an advisor to each of Red Bulls Formula One sides and oversaw key drivers such as four-time Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen and Daniel Riccardo.
Commenting on Marko’s departure on the official Red Bull Racing X Page, Chief Executive Officer Laurent Mekies stated: “It is with very sad news that Helmut is leaving us.
“He has been such an integral part of our Team and of Red Bull’s entire motor racing programme for more than two decades.
“This is therefore the end of a remarkably successful period. His departure will leave a void, and we will truly miss him.
“Helmut is a real racer at heart, always pushing us to the limit, always prepared to take risks in pursuit of our goals.”
But, whilst his spell with the side has seen Red Bull Racing win several Constructors and Drivers World titles, Marko’s time at Red Bull has also seen controversy occur.
One example of this can be seen last year, where the former Formula One driver was internally investigated and faced a possible suspension for leaking information relating to Christian Horner’s alleged misconduct in Horner’s time as Team Principal. But, he was cleared of this offence.
With his departure now confirmed, Red Bull Racing will search for a new advisor to take Helmut Marko’s place ahead of the 2026 season.
