Huge news for this season’s title race as the FIA CONFIRMS that both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been DISQUALIFIED from the Las Vegas Grand Prix while Max Verstappen’s win means he has closed the gap by 25 points to the title leader.
The duo have been penalised for excessive skid-block wear as post-race checks showed the measured thickness was less than 9 mm on both cars, which is the minimum thickness required.
Max had won comfortably, but his result is better than he could have ever dreamt as he hunts an unlikely but ever more possible fifth Driver’s championship in a row.
Mercedes are huge benefactors too, as a double podium is now scored, as BOTH Ferrari’s also gain two places, with Leclerc 4th, just 0.192 seconds off a podium after Antonelli’s 5 second penalty.
All eyes to Qatar.
