Ferrari in contention after strong weekend…

By Callum Griffies

Charles Leclerc was the one to go fastest on FP1. The Ferrari driver finished ahead of Kimi Antonelli and Nico Hulkenburg.

Friday’s session was a busy one for the newcomers. With a total of nine newcomers highlighting their talent to the rest of the grid as they replaced the likes of Russel, Tsunoda and Hamilton.

Red bull driver Arvid Lindblad had the bragging rights over the other rookies in the first session. As he finished highest of the lot on P6 with the next rookie finishing 13th in the McLaren.

Leclerc set the fastest time late in the session after losing out on his original time to Antonelli and Oscar Piastri.

Heading into the 2nd session of the day. Max Verstappen claimed the fastest time of the day with a 1:17.392.

The Dutchman finished two tenths ahead of Leclerc in the Ferrari as he looks to continue his momentum to challenge for the championship.

Lando Norris was once again the leading McLaren in the fight against his teammate Oscar Piastri. Despite the Brit missing the first session of the day.

Oscar Piastri ended the session with a disappointing P12 after his teammate finished in P4 just behind the Mercedes of Antonelli.
