Max Verstappen continues his hunt for the World Championship after a dominant drive in COTA. The 4-time world champion produced a comfortable drive throughout the race, seeing himself cruise to a comfortable win to continue the pressure on the papaya drivers.
The Dutchman was flawless and controlled the race. With the world championship coming down to 40 points between the Dutchman and Piastri.
It was Red Bull’s strongest weekend in a while. With Max Verstappen claiming pole, sprint win, pole once again and most importantly, his win on Sunday. A sweep of the weekend.
A difficult race for Piastri saw him finish seconds behind Hamilton in 5th. After the British driver suffered a puncture in the last lap.
Once again, Norris outscored his teammate to continue his pursuit of the world championship. With just 14 points separating the two.
It was an overall disappointing performance from McLaren. Lando finished P2 after a hard-fought race with the Ferrari of Leclerc. The Brit conceded his position early in the race after Leclerc beat Norris off the start.
Norris eventually reclaimed P2 with few laps remaining after a hard-fought battle with the Monegasques.
Ferrari will be pleased coming off COTA. Hamilton and Leclerc helped the team claim a 27-point haul on Sunday, which leaves the door wide open for them to finish P2 in the constructors’ championship, being just 7 points behind Mercedes.
The 7-time world champion finished in a respectable fourth after going long on his strategy whilst his teammate went aggressive, starting on the softs.
