Williams drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz have been disqualified from qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix due to technical breaches on their cars. Albon and Sainz had initially qualified 12th and 13th respectively at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, but their results were revoked after the team failed post-qualifying checks.
The issue arose when the FIA checked the uppermost rear wing element adjustable positions on both cars and found that they exceeded the maximum limit of 85mm on both sides of the rear wing outer area when the Drag Reduction System (DRS) was deployed, breaching Article 3.10.10g of the Technical Regulations.
The stewards subsequently confirmed the disqualification of both drivers, meaning they will start the Singapore Grand Prix from the back of the grid.
As a result, other drivers will move up the starting grid, with Liam Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda, Gabriel Bortoleto, Lance Stroll, Franco Colapinto, Esteban Ocon, and Pierre Gasly all gaining one position.
