What are Lewis Hamilton’s retirement plans?

By Joe Murphy

Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, has been open about his plans for retirement from the sport he loves. While he’s still racing and has a contract with Ferrari until at least the end of 2025, he’s shared some insights into what he’ll do when he finally hangs up his helmet.

In an interview with Channel 4, Hamilton revealed he’s got a multitude of projects lined up for life after F1. “I have a lot going on,” he said. “Designing clothes, producing movies and documentaries, I have my non-alcoholic tequila, I have Neat Burger that I’m helping push and grow… I’ve got a sportswear brand that I’m starting”. Clearly, Hamilton is preparing for a busy life after racing.

When discussing his actual retirement timeframe, Hamilton told Esquire, “I definitely do have a time frame in mind… There are days I’m like, ‘shoot, I don’t know how much longer I can go'”. He emphasized the importance of knowing when to stop, saying, “I want to make sure I really max it out while I can and fully enjoy this sport I’ve done my whole life”.

As for what he’ll do after F1, Hamilton mentions three key things that’ll be as rewarding as racing: designing clothes, producing movies and documentaries, and his non-alcoholic tequila brand.
