Valtteri Bottas has seemingly confirmed his move to the American team on Monday. The Finn has sparked speculation about a potential move to Cadillac’s Formula 1 team in 2026 with a cheeky social media post. The Mercedes reserve driver shared a video inspecting a Cadillac SUV, joking about the “two free seats” in the vehicle, which has fuelled rumours about his future plans.
Bottas’s post comes amid reports that Cadillac is considering several experienced drivers for their 2026 lineup. The team aims to pair an experienced F1 driver with an American talent, and Bottas believes his skills would be a good fit. He sees Cadillac as an “interesting project” and thinks his experience would be valuable in shaping the team’s direction.
Bottas expressed his confidence in his abilities, stating, “We humans have degradation, but I don’t have it yet.”
Bottas expects to know more about his 2026 plans around August. The speculation surrounding his potential move to Cadillac has generated significant interest among F1 fans.
