Russell win could be CANCELLED as Red Bull appeal shows signs of promise

Red Bull have appealed against George Russell’s victory in Canada, after a suspected Safety Car infringement. Mercedes are of course expecting to keep the victory and, as things stand, the win remains the Brits. A decision is set to be confirmed later on Sunday evening.

Russell v Verstappen again

Whilst the race ended under SC conditions, it was a lap prior where Russell slammed on the brakes, that led to Verstappen briefly overtaking whilst behind the Safety Car itself.

If Red Bull are successful, Russell could see his win stripped and the Red Bull man take the maximum points haul. Time will tell as to whether Mercedes can fully celebrate their marvellous Sunday.
