With its medieval walls and historic architecture, Bologna, the region’s capital, boasts an impressive 8 km of medieval fortifications, making it one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe.

The University of Bologna, founded in 1088, is one of the oldest in the world, proudly declares Professor Maria Rosa. It’s a testament to the region’s long-standing commitment to knowledge and innovation. Today, the region’s passion for speed is evident in its motorsport heritage, with over 360,000 registered motorcycles calling Emilia-Romagna home.

The region is home to the legendary Imola Circuit, which has hosted numerous Formula One Grand Prix events, including the San Marino Grand Prix. Imola is a true test of driving skill, according to Formula 1 veteran Lewis Hamilton.

The circuit’s twists and turns demand precision and finesse. In 2022, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix drew a staggering 1.3 million spectators, cementing the region’s reputation as a hub for motorsport enthusiasts.
