Believe it or not, the Grand Prix winner is now one of the most experienced men on the track in 2025. A long time ago, early in this century, Pierre Gasly’s journey in motorsport began with karting at a young age. “Karting was always a passion of mine, and I was lucky enough to have parents who supported me every step of the way,” Gasly reflected. He progressed to open-wheel racing, joining the Red Bull Junior Team and competing in various Formula Renault series.
Gasly’s talent and dedication earned him a spot in Formula One, making his debut with Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) in 2017. He impressed in his first stint with the team, showcasing his speed and adaptability. “The first time I put on the helmet and drove out of the garage, I knew it was what I was meant to do,” Gasly said about his F1 debut.
In 2019, Gasly was promoted to Red Bull Racing, replacing Daniel Ricciardo. However, his time with the team was short-lived, and he was replaced by Alex Albon mid-season. “It was tough, but I learned a lot from the experience,” Gasly acknowledged. He returned to Toro Rosso, now rebranded as AlphaTauri, where he secured his first podium finish at the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix.
Gasly’s breakthrough season came in 2020 with AlphaTauri. He achieved multiple strong performances, including his first F1 victory at the Italian Grand Prix. “That win was incredible. It was a dream come true, and I’m grateful to the team for giving me the opportunity,” Gasly exclaimed.
After four seasons with AlphaTauri, Gasly joined Alpine F1 Team for the 2023 season, replacing Fernando Alonso. He partnered with Esteban Ocon, and the two drivers worked together to push the team forward. When Ocon left for Haas, Jack Doohan joined Gasly as his teammate for the 2025 season. “I’m excited to work with Jack. He’s a talented young driver, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can work together to achieve our goals,” Gasly said about his new teammate.
Throughout his career, Gasly has demonstrated resilience, determination, and a passion for racing. As he continues to drive for Alpine, he remains focused on achieving success and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in Formula One.
