Piastri Title Favourite after DOMINATING Bahrain Display

Bahrain Grand Prix Review – By Joe Murphy

Oscar Piastri showed experience behind his years as he claimed victory in the 2025 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix as the McLaren racing driver dominated the race from start to finish. The Aussie lead the race from the start after a sensational pole performance on Saturday, and didn’t relinquish the net lead once, nor did he look like doing so.

The Best F1 Track is…

Piastri takes top spot for the seci d race in a row, becoming the first man to win multiple races in this seasons championship, as George Russell held on for second place in the Mercedes.

Lando Norris recovered to third after a poor Saturday in the other McLaren but was unable to make his way past his good mate.

Charles Leclerc dropped to fourth for Ferrari ahead of his team-mate Lewis Hamilton in fifth, who went on a beach different medium tyre strategy. In a miserable weekend for Red Bull Max Verstappen only finished in sixth, ahead of Alpine’s Pierre Gasly in seventh as the French team and driver picked up their first points of the season.

Shocking planned FIA changes

Esteban Ocon drove superbly to take eighth place at the chequered flag for Haas ahead of Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda, scoring his first points for the team in ninth and cementing a best finish for a Red Bull not named Verstappen, so far this year.

Oliver Bearman rounded off the top 10, making it another double-points finish for Haas in Bahrain, which few predicted.

A Safety Car that was unfortunately timed for Mercedes meant Kimi Antonelli left Bahrain pointless, as did Williams with Sainz’ misery continuing with another DNF to go with his Australian one. Sauber and Aston Martin were also well off the Pace and never really looked like scoring points, with Jack Doohan also unable to emulate his teammates achievement of points.

Best Driver in 2025 according to Alonso

Onto the next race. Norris will aim for redemption, Verstappen will look to bounce back and Piastri will be eyeing up a hat trick of consecutive wins.
