Quantifying a subjective decision into an actual winner is literally impossible. But we’ll do our best.
With a record number of different circuits being tested in 2025, the question actually appears harder than ever. And it’s true, that it does depend on your preference. Monaco is often referred to as the ‘jewel in the crown’ but in actuality, it’s just an exhibition more than anything.
Huge Implications from FIA Decision
An article like this also brings into question of what actually makes a great racetrack, let alone the best. Overtaking opportunities, a great fan experience and some history.
Miami is a great circuit, but lacks the tradition of F1 and just scream materialistic and celebrity crammed. Suzuka has the history but then overtaking opportunies are at a premium. Austria has some good elements but also does give the vibe of a track that’s just too short.
With all these factors considered, it’s genuinely easy to narrow down to three tracks. Namely Spa, Silverstone and Baku.
Baku has the street element but there’s no doubt the races here have entertained over the years. Silverstone is steeped in history and offers a brilliant race day experience.
Alonso: My best Driver on the Grid
However, when asking drivers, teams and personnel in the know, they would in fact go for Spa. The Belgian track offers a mix of history, picturesque scenery and pure speed. Some of the visuals here are truly better than anywhere else on the calendar. And it’s also genuinely dangerous. Not that this is intrinsically a good thing, but adds that very real element to Formula 1 that drives fan engagement and passion.
In the end then, not so impossible after all.
