Predictions for the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix – By Joe Murphy
With the teams currently in transit from Japan Airports to the Bahrain International Circuit, there is no better time to evaluate the events which may unfold this upcoming weekend.
Whilst the Japanese Grand Prix was something of a challenge to sit through, Bahrain offers plenty more overtaking opportunities. Recent years have seen no shortage of action and there’s no reason for this to stop.
In terms of up front, you can bet pretty strongly on a McLaren victory, more specifically in the form of current championship leader Lando Norris. Car number four is strong at this venue, with Oscar having more success around neighbouring Qatar. Expect Verstappen and Russell to push the Papaya pair, but there should be no dislodging the two McLaren teammates.
Ferrari have also enjoyed success here, with both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton capable of mounting a podium challenge. Expect the two in red to be on the heels of Russell in fourth, if not slightly ahead with every chance of the Mercedes splitting the red cars.
Kimi Antonelli should take huge confidence from his performance in Suzuka. The young driver is likely to be up next scoring yet more points for the Silver Arrows.
As for the final points positions, whilst RB and Aston Martin may challenge, you can back Yuki Tsunoda to score points, as well as Pierre Gasly, with the Frenchman looking to kick off both his and his team’s season. He could be just ahead of French counterpart Estaban Ocon who will hope to take back some of the spotlight from Oliver Bearman after yet another good performance from the rookie last time out. However, it’s more likely Ocon falls just short of Carlos Sainz, who will hope his good record in Bahrain is enough to see him in a more favourable race position, at the expense of his teammate Alex Albon, who may just miss out.
The aforementioned Bearman should be battling the likes of Hadjar and Lawson, with perhaps Fernando Alonso thrown in for good measure. Although Sauber are not likely to get close to points unless others falter.
