BREAKING – Eddie Jordan Dead at 76

In the last few moments, it’s been confirmed that Eddie Jordan has died after losing his battle to cancer. The man who has a history of driving and being a team principal at the top level of Formula 1, was 76 years old.

Jordan’s death was announced in a statement from his family and the story was first broken by BBC news.

The statement said Jordan “passed away peacefully with family by his side in Cape Town” in the early hours of Thursday morning.

It remains to be seen whether or not there will any commemorative service this weekend at the Chinese Grand Prix, but it’s more than likely there will be some kind of tribute.

Carlos Sainz is among the first F1 personnel to pay his respects as Aston Martin, a remake founded in part due to Jordan’s work, also shared fond memories across their social media.
