Former Formula 2 racer Frederik Vesti is now becoming a bookmakers favourite to join Cadillac Racing for the 2026 F1 season. With many names touted, most with at least some experience in Formula 1, it appears as if the American outfit may look within their own ranks for their first appointment. Vesti had long been linked with a Mercedes seat, most recently being an option to take the seat that Kimi Antonelli eventually secured on the grid for this season.
The news comes after the 22-year-old Dane was already confirmed as a Michelin Endurnance Cup driver for Action Express Racing in IMSA’s GTP class for this season.
The Dane is clearly talented, and has a future at the elite level of motorsport. He has already praised the constructor.
“It will be some good driving to get going with the Cadillac and I’m looking forward to it… “.
It is yet to be confirmed that a deal has been struck but an agreement is reportedly very close. The question now appears to turn to who partners Vesti in the sister car.
