Major change to F1 Grand Prix for 2025 has been confirmed by the FIA.
It was announced this week that the Monaco Grand Prix is set for a rule change for 2025.
It has been confirmed by the FIA this week, just as teams have begun testing in Bahrain, that a mandatory two pit stops will be enforced for this year’s race through the streets of Monte Carlo.
The motivation behind the move is beleieved to be related to both entertainment and safety. Due to Monaco’s street circuit layout, overtaking spots are at a premium. Therefore, with multiple stops, the chances of overtakes are increased.
Moreover, running tyres to a dangerous level of wear is not good for the cars, especially at such a narrow and difficult track.
The response to the move from fans has been positive thus far.
