Sergio Perez is no longer signed with Red Bull, and a search for a replacement is believed to have already been commenced.
Liam Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo are names being touted by media sources, with the New Zealander beating the others to the seat.
The Mexican endured a season from hell, and was the only one from a top four team to not win a race across the campaign. He also failed to challenge Verstappen across the year and was the main reason Red Bull finished behind McLaren and Ferrari in the Constructors standings. It’s not a huge surprise, in other words.
Whether or not this means Perez is done in F1, remains to be seen. If Lawson does hop into the senior team, Perez may get an offer with RB. Otherwise a sabbatical could be an alternative option.
It’s no secret Perez struggled at Red Bull, particularly over the last six months. Red Bull will be hoping his replacement fairs rather better alongside Verstappen in 2025.
