If F1 Drivers were FOOD and DRINK?!

By Joe Murphy

There are 20 different drivers currently on the F1 grid in 2024, with a further one being replaced at the halfway stage. That being said, let’s see who is fresh in the shop, and who is going off past their best before date. So here goes for all 21 drivers.

Max Verstappen – Chocolate

Most people like Chocolate, but if you keep eating it over and over and over again, it starts to make you feel a bit sick. Once you’ve had a large amount, you start to crave something else. No matter what anyone says, a really champion choice.

Sergio Perez – Tacos

Aside from the obvious Mexican connection, Tacos are reliable and everyone likes them. Although, they are only a few people’s first choice when going for food. Can be very hit and miss.

Lando Norris – Ice Cream

Sweet and innocent but also something that needs to be taken seriously. Can be a real winner on occasion.

Oscar Piastri – Fruit

Fruit doesn’t always go with ice cream, sometimes you just have to have one or the other. Perhaps an orange fruit, having some good fruit can make you feel really good.

Lewis Hamilton – Subway Sandwich

Used to be all anyone had for lunch, then got a bit sickly and expensive. Then, not having them that often, they started to become a rare treat that, whilst expensive, certainly satisfied the appetite. Have gone through controversy.

George Russell – Coffee

Not everybody’s cup of tea, but going to be around for a while. Can be hit or miss, depends where you have it.

Charles Leclerc – Roast Potatoes

Ah, the comfort food. Just looking at them can make you feel better. Or, they will annoy you because of how good they are when you can’t have them.

Carlos Sainz – Milkshake

You may have been expecting Paella, but I won’t do such a lazy entry. Milkshake is smooth, but with other drinks becoming more popular, seems to be set to take a back seat moving forward.

Fernando Alonso – Whiskey

Never fails to deliver and is a timeless classic. Gets better with age it seems.

Lance Stroll – Pineapple on Pizza

Most people can’t work out what it’s doing there. Others seem to really dig it but it does feel like a bit of a crime.

Kevin Magnussen – Sticky Toffee

Can get on your nerves and actually be a bit dangerous, but ultimately it has been a winner for so long so can’t be that bad.

Nico Hulkenberg – Pie

Steady food that hardly anyone doesn’t like, but never going to be an ultimate winning choice, a bit run of the mill.

Daniel Ricciardo – Sweets/Candy

A bit of fun, but as time passes you realise they aren’t quite as good as you think. Still, you wouldn’t want to be in a world without them.

Yuki Tsunoda – Chilli

Can be a bit spicy but ultimately a real benefit to the overall product. Can grow on you in time.

Alex Albon – Yoghurt

Good overall, most people like it and it’s never going to be a top contender but a nice accompaniment.

Logan Sergeant – Bush Tucker Trial Grubs

Avoid at all costs.

Franco Colapinto – Falafel

New on the western market, let’s see how it goes.

Valtteri Bottas – Pastry

Utterly harmless but quite nice, probably not as good as they used to be.

Guanyu Zhou – Ratatouille

Probably won’t be around for much longer with better options available and people opting for other choices instead.

Pierre Gasly – Bread

Can be hot or cold. Can be a real winner, can be a bit stodgy. Definitely best when French. May have peaked when once considered a must have. But the world appears to have moved on.

Estaban Ocon – Truffle

Good and once very valuable but when you think about it, doesn’t actually add that much and may not be around for much longer. You feel it has to have a place though.
