In 2025, we will see Jack Doohan line up for Alpine on the F1 grid for the first time. But who is the young Australian and what has his journey to the top been like. Well, let’s dive in…
Firstly, he is a graduate of the Red Bull Junior Team. Yes much like Max Verstappen, Danii Kvyat and next seasons teammate; Pierre Gasly, Jack was in the junior ranks at the current Constructors Champions.
Another fun fact is that, like with many others, racing runs in the family. His father, Michael Sydney Doohan, is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racing World Champion, who won five consecutive 500cc World Championships.
Thirdly, he has a racing number! Car number 14 is set to be on the grid next year with Doohan sporting this during his junior years so far.
Penultimately, little know that he is used to being at the front of the grid. With 6 wins, 11 podiums, 5 poles, being towards the front of a grid is nothing new to the Australian.
Finally, he has been a reserve driver for the last 2 seasons! Yes Alpine have had Jack on their books for a while now. For both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, he has played second fiddle, taking his place in various sessions across Saturday’s.
