When commenting on Lewis Hamilton’s shock move to Ferrari that is set to happen in just under twelve months time, Max Verstappen failed to rule out a similar move for himself down the road.
He claimed; “I don’t want to sound disrespectful or whatever. I have a lot of respect for the brand Ferrari, but I’m very happy where I am at the moment.
In the interview, Max also stated that he is happy where he is currently, and reiterated his desire to continue the success he has enjoyed as Red Bull thus far; “I’m comfortable in the environment that I’m in, so for me, it’s not something that I’m looking for, to change. But again, in my life also, I know from what I’ve experienced so far, I never say never with things. But for me now, it’s not even in my in my head.”
He ended the discussion by leaving the door ajar for other opportunities, possibly even away from the sport altogether; “it’s only Formula 1. I want to do more things… “. A move of Verstappen to Ferrari would be as monumental as Hamilton’s. There is no doubting that driving for the Red Team carries with it a prestige quite like no other. Whether or not this opportunity turns into anything substantial, depends on a number of factors. It would certainly be a sight to see at the very least.
