Is Norris or Piastri the future of McLaren?

By Joe Murphy

Arguably the most talented lineup that blesses any current Formula 1 constructor, certainly if you listen to Team Boss Zak Brown. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri seem to be the safest pairing in all of F1 currently.

The only team with no driver out of contract for the next few years, the young Brit and Aussie are being firmly established as the future of the Orange team. And it is with no surprise. Lando has been ow of the best drivers in the grid over the previous campaigns he has been on the grid, whereas you’ll struggle to find a better Rookie year this decade than the one from Piastri last year.

So, in an era where teams either officially or not, have a number one driver, who should be the man that McLaren back at all costs?

You’d be wise to back Lando due to the fact he is more experienced and has achieved more, at present, for McLaren. Moreover, Lando has been extremely loyal to McLaren thus far, recently signing a third contract extention to mean his current stint could be as long as a decade long.

However, Oscar has an extremely bright future. There is a genuine scenario where one or indeed both of these men become future world champions. The futures of both depend on whether or not McLaren can build a championship winning car. If so, then they have a great chance at retaining this talented duo. If not, don’t be surprised if neither driver is still in an orange car in a few years time.

In short, both of these drivers could be the future of F1, it all depends on whether McLaren keep their end of the deal and produce the machinery that the talent of Lando and Oscar, warrants.
