Aston Martin are the latest team to unveil their challenger, the AMR24 car, ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 season. The aim of the team is clear, they want an F1 win and want to be challengers to Max Verstappen’s dominance in the sport. This could be the year where Fernando Alonso finally stands on the top spot of the podium again!
The car continues to adopt that racing green livery but is the first to be built at the team’s new Silverstone factory, which opened late last year. This week sees all the other top five constructors from the previous campaign, show the world their cars for the year ahead.
Aston Martin had an amazing start to 2023 and a strong end. The season had a dip through the middle which ended up allowing McLaren to leapfrog them in the standings. However, this car has been unofficially labelled as a “strong evolution” of last years vehicle, suggesting improvements across the board. Last year’s weaknesses should be just that, in the past. Alonso achieved podiums last year but there is genuine optimism they can go one better.

Mike Crack, team boss of the green team, said this; “We have really tried to look at every area, be it the car, the operations, the reliability to make a step forward in all the directions.. It has been very intense over the couple of months since we finished the season and we hope we have done enough. We are sure we will have a strong Contender.”
Testing will answer some questions in terms of performance, but we will have to wait for Bahrain for a true indication of just how competitive this car will be.
