Magnussen unsure on Haas future…

An air of cautious optimism but also an element of the unknown for how Haas will operate moving forward…

Kevin Magnussen feels unsure as to what the future could hold for Haas but it has been revealed he is ready for the new season in Formula 1, according to a close source.

The Dane struggled at times during the 2023 season but with changes aplenty from Haas over the winter break, there is sudden optimism, albeit the cautious type as he continues his journey towards 200 Grand Prix entries. Having finished 19th with only three points to his name a matter of months ago, there is a feeling that ‘the only way is up’.

Haas finished last in the constructors standings last year but rather than change drivers, they have opted to change the personnel in the garage. This means Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen retain their seats for at least another year.

With the veteran combination of the aforementioned Magnussen and Hulkenberg, Haas are in a pretty good place and could certainly do with the expertise and guidance from two experienced men behind the wheel.

Whilst targets will understandably be relatively low, there is a feeling of positivity running behind the scenes at the moment, with reports saying that Haas can’t wait to reveal their car and start testing ahead of the ‘curtains up’ at the first race of the season in Bahrain in just over a month’s time.

I’m sure Haas will keep their cards close to their chest but any improvement in terms of standings come the end of 2024 would have to be considered a success. Don’t expect them to be battling for podiums anytime soon, but with a positive trajectory, who knows for the future. Especially with the regulations changes coming in only two years time.
