It is being reported that changed to the new Haas car for 2024 are set to favour veteran racer Kevin Magnussen. Alterations made in the wake of former Team Boss Guenther Steiner, these minor changes could save the Dane time, all over the track.
The style of Magnussen has always been to carry high speed through a corner, which in turn requires secure handling from the transition from braking on the approach and turn-in. In last year’s car, it was evident that the VF-23 was not suited to such a driving manner. Rather, it lost stability, resulting in numerous spins and wide runs throughout the season. Across the garage, Hulkenberg faired better I comparison.
Whilst cards have been kept close to Haas’ chest so far, it has been revealed that changes made over the winter break have fixes this problem and we should see far more stability through fast paced corners, something which can only help Magnussen in terms of competitiveness.
Only once testing has begun in a matter of weeks will we find out the true extent of the improvements and whether they can do anything to potentially lift Haas from the bottom of the Constructor’s Championship standings for this year.
