F1 drivers ranked – Max or Lewis for #1?

By Joe Murphy

#2 – Max Verstappen

This was the toughest choice. Who knows how many race wins, podiums and even World Championships Max Verstappen will end up on. Currently, nobody can touch him on the grid. At the time of writing, nine in a row looks set to become ten this weekend. A third world championship in a row is a formality. He has outpaced every teammate convincingly. He’s an amazing driver and one of the best ever. But…

#1 – Lewis Hamilton

A poor season last year, yes. Not hitting the heights of previous years? True. However he has more podiums than Alonso and Verstappen combined. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Max surpasses four of five World Championships at this point, but Lewis Hamilton already has his seventh. His records will go unmatched, possibly forever. There’s a reason why he’s compared to Senna and Schumacher and has a part of Silverstone named after him. Yes, his Mercedes was dominant in that era. However, he’s mastered pole position this year in the fourth best car on the grid. At the moment, there’s no denying top spot on this list.
