Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, the two lead title protagonists, have been hit with grid place penalties for Sunday’s race. Valtteri Bottas, Lando Norris, Mick Schumacher and Estaban Ocon have suffered a similar fate, meaning the grid for Sunday’s Grand Prix is set to be well and truly mixed up.
Their starting positions are set to be finalised following the conclusion of Saturday’s Qualifying session, but it will be good news to Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez, we well as the Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, as they have more of a chance to take advantage.
