Wheel2Wheel Poems – #2 – Hamilton Pain in the Imola Rain

By Joe Murphy

It was the first Sprint of the year,

It was always going to rain.

Charles overtook Max

Only to see him pass again.

When we got to Sunday,

The weather dried a bit.

Carlos’ race was over first,

After him and Danny hit.

Max raced away up front,

It was the perfect race for the champ.

Others drivers slid and struggled,

As the track remained somewhat damp.

Just behind, Lando settled in,

Scoring a solid podium score.

Podium also for Checo Perez

Red Bull couldn’t ask for more.

After Charles Span off, he did come back

But had to settle for P6.

Bottas and Russell scored solid points,

Whilst Yuki put himself in the mix.

Double points for Aston Martin

Oh happy was Seb’s face.

They had a much better time than Alpine,

Who didn’t score points in this race.

Elsewhere K-Mag was strong again

Whilst Mick didn’t fare so well.

Albon drove a solid stint again,

He is improving, you can tell.

And then it’s Lewis Hamilton

Lapped for us all to see.

He spent virtually all the race

Stuck behind Pierre Gasly.

A solid race in Imola then,

With Miami two weeks away.

The F1 standings couldn’t be closer,

As the season enters May.
